Depression: Depression can be life threatening. A client who is depressed often expresses feelings of emptiness, loss of interest in pleasurable activities, lack of energy, and hopelessness. We assess for suicidal ideation and develop a plan which emphasizes accurate empathy and personal growth.
Anxiety: Anxiety can be debilitating and substantially restricts a person's ability to be successful. We have worked with post traumatic stress disorder and general anxiety disorders. We treat traumatic experiences with deliberate respect and offer a safe place to develop cognitive behavioral strategies.
Anger Management: We offer a 6-8 week course specifically for anger management. The course teaches a cognitive behavioral approach for anger management and uses guided imagery and relaxation techniques. The class involves in session and out of session assignments in order to supplement session material.
Substance Abuse: We conduct a substance abuse assessment using nationally certified screening tools and a structured interview. We conduct individual and family therapy to compliment proper substance abuse referrals. This provides a more comprehensive and aggressive approach for treating substance abuse.
Couple Therapy: We offer pre-marital therapy and administer the PREPARE/ENRICH relationship assessment. The premarital program is an 8 week course. We also conduct couple therapy to address problems of trust, intimacy, infidelity, abuse, substance abuse, communication, and conflict resolution.
Custody Evaluations: We conduct a five session systemic custody evaluation along with report. Our model has been successfully used with the 4th Judicial District Court and it is unique because we interview both the father and mother together. We also interview significant others, the child involved, and conduct home visits.
Child/Adolescent: We have experienced professionals in working with children (3-12), adolescents (13-18), and young adults (18-24). We have play therapy tools and techniques which help faciliate effective therapy and teach our clients new skills. We have worked with children who struggle with behavioral problems, as well as oppositional defiant, and attention deficit/hyperactive disorders.
